HOW DO DRYER BALLS WORK?
Wool Dryer Balls help to absorb moisture from your laundry. These little balls absorb up to 30% of their weight in water, help dry clothes more quickly and soften fabrics in the dryer. When you load a big armful of wet towels into the dryer they will flop and tumble around. The fabric will often stick together in the dryer, slowing down the drying process.
When you add dryer balls into your clothes dryer the balls will get in-between the fabric. The balls will separate and pull them apart. This in turn allows hot air to circulate in and around your laundry assisting the dryer to heat your laundry faster and suck the evaporated water out of the dryer more efficiently.
Using dryer balls is said to cut at least 25% off the time to dry a load of laundry, saving time and energy.
Because dryer balls also agitate against the fabric fibres, everything feels softer coming out of the dryer. And used properly, they also take care of static cling.
HOW TO USE DRYER BALLS
Because they need room to bounce with the wet clothes and linen, dryer balls do their best and fastest work when the dryer is not crammed full. You’ll find that two medium-size loads of laundry will dry faster and more efficiently than one gigantic load. Dryer balls need room to work.
The easy part! Grab your dryer balls and just throw them into the dryer along with your laundry. Use your normal drying setting - that’s it, your clothes dryer and the dryer balls will do the rest!
Tip: Add a few drops of essential oil to each of the dryer balls.
Let the essential oil soak into the dryer balls for a 10-20 minutes before you use them. The more the oils are absorbed into the dryer balls before use the slower they will be dispersed in the dryer, the slower is better!
If you’re new to essential oils I recommend doTERRAs proprietary blend Purify, if you prefer a softer scent Lavender is a nice option as well.
HOW LONG DO THEY LAST?
This will depend on how much laundry that is done on a regular basis. The balls can easily last for approximately 500+ dryer loads. They will show a little wear after a while and they will ‘pill’, but that’s a good thing! This proves they are doing their job!
DO I NEED DIFFERENT COLOUR DRYER BALLS TO SUIT THE COLOUR OF MY CLOTHING/LINEN ETC?
Definitely not! Use whatever wool coloured balls you like in any coloured laundry load. There are no dyes in our wool dryer balls, so there is no risk of dye transfer. Also, the balls do not shed or lint, so you don’t need to worry about any little fibres transferring onto your clothing.

Absolutely! Our wool balls are made with 100% pure wool, using no synthetic fillers, chemicals or dyes. They are hypoallergenic and great to use for anyone with sensitive skin.
CAN DRYER BALLS HELP REMOVE PET HAIR FROM FABRIC?
Because the balls separate the laundry and allow better air flow, more pet hair will be loosened, so be sure to check your lint screen after every load.
